Design

Berlin Partner for Business and Technology has been commissioned by the Senate to organize a joint stand – a Pavilion. The pavilion should not appear as a mere series of boxes, a balancing act between a grand entrance and minimal effort but should allow the small to radiate on a large scale. For this reason, each individual exhibitor area is elevated by columns and illuminated. The core, the inner area, is designed and seen as a common room and meeting place for every exhibitor and visitor.

Challenge

The aim and challenge are to demonstrate the existing economic, technical and innovative capabilities of the Berlin region as a whole and in the individual business units, and to enable these business units to serve the American market in the best possible way.

Solution

We have designed a clean, modern space within the subdivided pavilion area for each company. The exhibition sections were demarcated from one another by a row of backlit columns, symbolizing the connection in a kind of urban skyline. The central meeting area was equipped with an impressive backlit wall that highlighted the Berlin Partner as the umbrella and supporting organization of each exhibitor.

Results

The Berlin Partner pavilion stood out as a truly unique and attractive space. It perfectly captures the essence of a joint stand while offering visitors the opportunity to network and collaborate directly with individual exhibitors or indirectly through the umbrella organization Berlin Partner. Berlin Partner has made a lasting impression and shown that small and medium-sized economic entities can also successfully present themselves in other economic areas under a joint umbrella.
