Design
After the company had moved away from presenting a single, real machine, the concept and central message had to be changed. The idea was born to divide the Illig world and its system offering into individual sub-areas and to divide the stand into separate locations, like market squares, and to present 4 core themes within them. The enlarged and reinforced version of the modular thermoforming system is the centerpiece on a backlit wall, reflecting the most striking feature of the stand. The other theme areas were to be perceived as homogeneous in the stand design.
Challenge
The challenge was to showcase the company’s extensive portfolio of thermoforming and packaging development, as well as the new thermoforming system developed specifically for the needs of the American market. The theme areas should not appear isolated, but should be directly connected to the central marketplace, offering opportunities for meetings, discussions and customer talks.
Solution
We created a functional and content-driven stand where 4 key themes were presented on backlit wall elements in the corner positions, supported by video and imagery as well as sample placements. The image of the machine was designed as an eye-catcher and monitors were set up to support and illustrate the functionality. The layout allowed the visitor to focus on individual control functions of the machine. The marketplace in the center was designed as an open space with a bar concept and an impressive LED display in the rear as an entertaining meeting point, with meeting rooms for private or semi-private business talks in the rear area on either side.
Results
The 40×80′ stand was optimally utilized and the creation of themed stations gave structure and clarity to the various products on display. This allowed the high number of visitors to be well managed and targeted. Maximum performance: ILLIG presents a comprehensive thermoforming and packaging portfolio at the NPE 2024.
