We’ve said it all before – but for you newcomers to the trade show floor, along with you veterans who just need a little reminding, here is a quick list of perennial don’t’s:

  • Do Not grab your coffee and klatch – remember the people you came to talk to are in the aisles – not your associates in the booth.
  • Do Not be surprised if buyers walk past because you are on the phone – talk to the attendees and save phoning for out of the booth.
  • Do Not stand guard with arms folded – that body language says keep away. Stand relaxed, arms down, feet apart and smile.
  • Do Not try and learn about your new product demo in the booth – do a trial run before you get on the floor.
  • Do Not eat in your booth – attendees feel rude if they interrupt your lunch – so they just do not stop.
  • Do Not pack up early – you miss the chance to talk to buyers – you paid a lot of money for that space – ignoring the last few visitors is not good business.
