You might draw lots of people with games, giveaways or drawings for a prize, but they won’t be your best prospects. Showmanship is not as important as having the right message. Serious prospects are resistant to gimmicks. They want a brief explanation of your product or service and how it will help them. The wrong behavior turns prospects away from your booth and the right behavior is classically simple. The people staffing your exhibit should smile cordially but never say, “May I help you?” Prospects don’t want help — they want useful information.
