Pictured here is an Absolute Exhibits’ client at The Swimwear Show in Miami, Cia Marti. Technology is probably the biggest wild card along with entertainment space and room for presentations. They may translate to a few less shows a year and a really big bang at one major trade show.

Steroids in this instance are a good thing – as in your visuals should be on steroids. The challenge on the trade show floor is to stand out and make people talk about your all over the show floor. Trade shows are cost-effective, instead of sending sales people across the country, spend a larger share of your marketing budget on a three to four day eye-popping, sock dropping, experience.

A growing trend is live demonstrations in booths with client interaction from cooking to orthopedic implants–like showing how orthopedic implants for men and women differ. We see hundreds of demonstrations at Sema and Aapex – because everyone likes to touch and feel. Make your booth space comfortable. If you have a little space left over add a lounge area to keep clients for an extra few minutes. Offer water to everyone. Don’t pounce – just stay friendly and never look past the client to see who you want to catch in the aisles!
