From March 5–9, 2017, Absolute Exhibits joined exhibitors and attendees from around the world at EuroShop 2017 in Düsseldorf, Germany. For five full days, we toured the Messe Düsseldorf fairgrounds to capture the scale and excitement of the show.

The World’s Leading Retail Trade Fair

EuroShop began in 1966 and has grown into the world’s number-one retail trade fair. Because it only takes place once every three years, the show always draws global attention.

The 2017 edition was the largest to date. In fact, it featured:

  • 2,367 exhibitors from 61 countries
  • 18 halls across the fairgrounds
  • Nearly 1.38 million square feet of exhibition space
  • More than 109,000 trade visitors

As a result, EuroShop 2017 confirmed its role as the most important meeting place for retail and exhibition professionals.

A New Structure for 2017

For the first time, EuroShop introduced a floor plan divided into seven themed dimensions. This change helped visitors move through the halls more easily and focus on areas most relevant to them. The dimensions included:

  1. Expo & Event Marketing
  2. FoodTech & Energy Management
  3. Lighting
  4. POP Marketing
  5. Retail Technology
  6. Shop Fitting & Store Design
  7. Visual Merchandising

Exhibitor Categories

The exhibitor mix was broad and diverse. For example, the show floor featured:

  • Shopfittings, furnishings, store design & visual merchandising – 826 exhibitors
  • Lighting – 267 exhibitors
  • Refrigeration systems – 212 exhibitors
  • Catering & hospitality equipment – 55 exhibitors
  • Energy management & building services – 60 exhibitors
  • POP marketing – 460 exhibitors
  • Retail technology – 708 exhibitors
  • Stand construction & live marketing – 358 exhibitors
  • General services – 48 exhibitors
  • Reference projects – 56 exhibitors

Together, these categories showed how EuroShop brings every corner of the retail and exhibition industry under one roof.
